Webinar #93 “DOSE-DOSENANG SINUGOD SA EMERGENCY ROOM: Anong gagawin ninyo ngayong may COVID-19 Pandemic?”

Two years into the pandemic, we have seen how an infection can travel from one part of the world to another in a matter of days, or even hours. Countries are now on edge in relation to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in the time of the pandemic. Aside from increasing the spread of COVID-19, can this war in Europe result in other dangers for those who are far away?

It is reported that Russia has used banned weapons; there is talk about the threat of chemical as well as nuclear weapons. What are these threats? As frontline health workers what do we need to know about chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives (CBRNE) that could affect large groups of people in different parts of the world?

In this episode of STOP COVID DEATHS, we will focus on how we need to prepare for other disruptive events in a time when the pandemic is not completely in check. In particular, what do we do if we are faced with an emergency with many people rushed to emergency care and we are not sure about the cause of a mass casualty incident?

Join us as we listen to experts on potential public health emergencies on top of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. April B. Llaneta, Former Chair of the UP-PGH Department of Emergency Medicine and highly trained in CBRNE is the main presenter. John Bernard F. Bernardo, a CBRNE nurse will provide insights and personal experiences. The webinar will be opened by Dr. Teodoro J. Herbosa, UP-PGH Chair of the Dept. of Emergency Medicine with the Synthesis and Closing Remarks by Dr. Stella Marie L. Jose, UP-PGH Deputy Director for Health Operations. A special message will be delivered by Dr. Irma Makalinao, Professor with the Dept. of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the UP College of Medicine.

Stay Safe. Stay Healthy. Stay Connected.
Together, we can STOP COVID DEATHS!
