Nelfa M. Glova

Nelfa M. Glova is an assistant professor of communication and media arts at the University of the Philippines Mindanao where she teaches Intercultural Communication, Research Methods, Communication Planning, and Crisis Communication. She graduated her BA Social Sciences (Political Science) from U.P. Visayas Tacloban College.

She took her M.S. in Development Communication from the Visayas State University, formerly VISCA, and worked as Media Production Specialist at the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension in the same institution.

She finished her M.A. in Health Communication at the Michigan State University as a Ford International Fellow. While doing her M.A., she worked as Intern-Associate Consultant of the Kusaurara (Listen Up!) Project in Nigeria at the Center for Communication Programs (CCP), Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. Asst. Prof. Glova’s research interest lies in the intersections of persuasion and media effects. She is involved in evaluation projects of health communication interventions and has supervised experimental studies in media effects on communicative behavior.
