Webinar #42 “May Mga Allergy Ako: COVID-19 Vaccine- SAFE BA?”
Special Topic
The Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (PSAAI) recently released a position statement on COVID-19 vaccines and their Adverse Reactions in response to concerns about allergic reactions. In past webinars there have been numerous questions about allergies and possible allergic reactions to COVID-19 even among frontline health workers.

In this webinar, PSAAI teams up with the UP STOP COVID DEATHS team in order to explain fundamental concepts involved in possible rare reactions e.g. reactogenic vs. allergic reactions. The session will also cover how to manage a reaction, if any are encountered in vaccination roll-out – again highlighting that these events are rare.

Be informed of the latest scientific findings on COVID-19 vaccines and reactions. The discussion includes those who should not be given COVID-19 vaccines, patients who need further evaluation and expounds on special groups who can receive the vaccine. The webinar will be opened by Dr Rommel Lobo, President of PSAAI, with a special Opening Message from UP System VP for Public Affairs, Dr. Elena E. Pernia. Main presenter is Dr Marysia Stella T. Recto, Immediate Past President of PSAAI and Professor of Adult Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the UP- Philippine General Hospital. Dr. Leilanie Apostol-Nicodemus, Professor from the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the UP-Philippine General Hospital and Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila will be the reactors.

Stay Safe. Stay Healthy. Stay Connected.
