Honoris Causa Conferment Ceremony | Hon. Antonio Carpio
The University of the Philippines (UP) will hold a ceremony to confer a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, degree upon UP College of Law alumnus and retired Justice of the Supreme Court Hon. Antonio T. Carpio on 10 December 2020, Thursday, at 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Malcolm Hall, College of Law, UP Diliman, with a limited number of seats for invited guests in compliance with IATF policies.
Justice Carpio was sworn in as a member of the Supreme Court by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on October 26, 2001, and served honorably until his retirement in 2019.
The degree of Doctor of Laws, which the University will be conferring upon Justice Carpio, is the highest academic recognition of an individual’s contributions to the advancement of a field in a particular discipline through one’s extraordinary accomplishments.
