Prof. Alexis Erich Almocera
Alexis Erich S. Almocera is an assistant professor of the Division of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, at the College of Arts and Sciences of UPV Miag-ao. A recipient of undergraduate and graduate scholarships from the Department of Science and Technology, he graduated with a B.S. Mathematics degree, magna cum laude from UP Cebu, and obtained both his M.S. and Ph.D. Mathematics degrees from the Institute of Mathematics, UP Diliman.
Prof. Almocera specializes in the area of mathematical biology, particularly on problems of food webs and diseases. From July 2017 to June 2018, he worked on disease models as a postdoctoral fellow of the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) in Germany, under the Systems Medicine for Infectious Diseases research group. His research on food webs and diseases has culminated in publications with the Journal of Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Biosciences, Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering, and Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation.
