KASAYSAYAN NG KABABAIHAN SA PILIPINAS
Dr. Ma. Luisa Camagay
Ma. Luisa Camagay has been a faculty member of the University of the Philippines since 1972 and has held various positions in the University’s College of Social Sciences and Philosophy such as Chair of the Department of History, Coordinator for Publication, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. She has also held the positions of Assistant Director of the University’s Sentro ng Wikang Pilipino and Director of the University of the University of the Philippines Press. She earned her Doctorat de Troisieme Cycle de histoire in Paris’ Ecole de Hautes Etude en Sciences Sociales (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences) in 1982 and has since written and co-written numerous books on Philippine women and history.
Her awards, among others, include the 2013 Natatanging Guro, Gawad Chancellor (2013 Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Teacher) and the Chevalier de Palmes Academiques awarded by the French Government in 2006.
