What is Filipino Design? Or is there one at all? | Professor Leonardo C. Rosete
Leonardo C. Rosete is a designer, and a professor at the College of Fine Arts in UP Diliman. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in the same college in 1980. He specializes in space planning and design, product and systems design, and digital media and graphic design.
He has exhibited his works in various solo shows such as the “The Doors” at the Fine Arts Gallery, UP Diliman; as well as in various group exhibits such as the In Circle Art Exhibition at the Pinto Art Museum, AC@Botong’s at the UP Bar and Gallery. He was also an Exhibitry Designer for the Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI) at The Mind Museum from 2008 to 2012.
Professor Rosete, who was awarded as University Artist, has also received three professorial chairs, namely: Diamond Jubilee Professorial Chair award (2011-2012) for his creative work “Contemporary Designs for the Kalakat Weavers of Agusan del Sur”; the Jose Joya Professorial Chair Award (2005-2006) for his work Virtual Gallery for Digital Artworks; and the Guillermo Tolentino Professorial Chair Award (1999-2000) for Sustainable Design using Recycling and Reusing Concepts.
