MJ SALUMBIDES is working on her filmmaking degree at the University of the Philippines Film Institute. Aside from academic work, she also hones her leadership skills handling her second-time position as the current Administrative Vice-President of the UP Cinema Arts Society. Her enthusiasm for film leads her to experience and be proficient in every aspect of the craft— from the artistic to the more technical side.
MJ has won several awards, including the Best Sound Designer for three straight installations of the Black Beret competition at the UP Cine Adarna. Early 2018, she was nominated as Best Cinematographer along with other young and talented filmmakers of the said competition.
A believer of the art, MJ has a number of passion projects which she plans to execute in the near future with the help of minds alike and enough resources.
MAIKLING PELIKULA is a program featuring outstanding and award-winning short films. Likewise to be featured will be a discussion and annotation by the director-filmmaker. The program will highlight the experimental and narrative genres of film.
