Reuben R. Cañete, Ph.D.
Reuben Ramas Cañete, Ph.D. is currently a full professor and assistant to the Dean for research and publications at the Asian Center, UP Diliman. He has written numerous articles of Philippine Arts and Culture, and has publish nine books on the topic. He is also an authority on Masculinity and Phil. Visual Culture. He is currently Editor-in-chief of Humanities Diliman: Philippine Journal of Humanities; University Artist II; and acting curator of the Asian Center Museum. He served as a President of the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP) from 2000-2002. He was awarded the Leo Benesa Award of Art Criticism (1196); Best book in Art at the 32nd National Book Awards (2013); and awardee for the Humanities, National Research Council of the Philippines (2014).
